Skin Care During the Season Change
Only minutes ago, you washed your face, and now all you see is white flakes. No, you don't have a case of leprosy. It's fall. It's cold. And it's doing unkind things to your delicate skin. Halloween is over, and you would rather not look like one of the zombies from "Night of the Living Dead." I would post a picture of my chapped-ridden face, but I don't want to scare you off.
If you have albino skin, like me, you are probably noticing the ill effects this season can produce on our body's largest organ. And no, I am not referring that organ, so get your mind out of the gutter! You integumentary system, comprised of your skin, hair, nails, etc. I would like to thank my high school anatomy & physiology teacher, Ms. Bartlett, for that nugget of information. Feel free to use this random fact at a cocktail party sometime; it’s guaranteed to impress.
Skin Care Solutions
Here are two simple, inexpensive remedies that I cannot live without during this time of year:
Exfoliant |
Moisturing Creme |

I love Biore's Pore Perfect Pore unclogging scrub. This wonderful exfoliating and refining scrub contains salicylic acid, which is great acne treatment. I had to admit, but I still battle that lovely problem on occasion. Note: Beware of exfoliants that have walnuts or any nut in them. This is very harsh on your skin and can cause small tears on your face as you use it. Think about it, nuts are hard substances. Do you really want to rub them on your face? |
I was given a recommendation by a beautiful 60-something women, who looked in her early 40s. Her skin is flawless. Several years back we were having a discussion on the ravages that winter does to your skin. I was complaining about how dry and flaky my skin was, and she highly recommended Eucerin as a remedy. I immediately went out and bought a tub of this product, and my skin has been ever so happy since then. |
